The new RNLI Headquarters building on Poole's water front had to be able to cope with the high winds and salt spray from the sea. Mill finished aluminium standing seam sheets were chosen for the barrel shaped roof. The  57 mtr long sheets proved to be a challenge to install in the October winds. High quality materials and fixing regimes were used throughout. The claddings were PVF² coated aluminium in both horizontal and vertical planes. The holes formed for the circular windows were molded on site with GRP materials.
